Primary Mastery Specialists

Steph Boddy: Gladstone Road Primary School

Steph Boddy: Gladstone Road Primary School

Steph is an Assistant Head for EYFS and KS1 at Gladstone Road Primary School in Scarborough, where she has worked for 7 years. Steph trained as a Primary Mastery Specialist in 2018 and is leading a group of ’embedding’ and a group of ‘sustaining’ schools this year.
Emily Crankshaw: St. Peter’s Primary School

Emily Crankshaw: St. Peter’s Primary School

Emily works at St. Peter’s Primary School in Harrogate, where she has worked for a number of years as a Year 6 teacher, maths lead and member of the Senior Leadership Team. She trained as a Primary Mastery Specialist in 2017 and has travelled to Shanghai as part of the Maths Hub China/England Exchange. Emily also works as the Primary Mastery Lead for the Hub, coordinating the Primary Mastery Specialist team.
Rachel Hodgson: Pickering Junior School

Rachel Hodgson: Pickering Junior School

Rachel has worked at Pickering Community Junior School for the last 10 years. She is currently a Year 5 class teacher and has worked as Maths lead and member of the Senior Leadership Team for several year. Rachel is a NCETM PD Accredited Lead and she trained as a Primary Mastery Specialist in 2020 and is leading a group of schools in their ‘developing’ year.
Christopher Moorwood: Sherburn C of E Primary School

Christopher Moorwood: Sherburn C of E Primary School

Christopher works at Sherburn C of E Primary School near Scarborough as a Y4/5/6 teacher and as maths coordinator across the Wolds and Vale Federation. Christopher has worked in the Wolds and Vale Federation for the last 6 years and trained as a Teaching for Mastery specialist in 2020; this year he is leading a group of ‘developing’ schools.
Sam Parker: Bubwith Primary School

Sam Parker: Bubwith Primary School

Sam has worked at Bubwith Community Primary School near Selby for 5 years. He currently teaches a mixed class of Year 4 and Year 5 children. Before becoming a teacher, Sam worked in industry as a trainer.
Andy Willson: Hob Moor Primary Academy

Andy Willson: Hob Moor Primary Academy

Andy works at Hob Moor Community Primary Academy, York as a Y3/4 teacher, LKS2 lead and a member of the Senior Leadership team. Andy has worked in the Ebor Academy trust for the last 8 years and has travelled to Shanghai as part of the trusts exchange programme. Andy trained as a mastery specialist in 2020 and is leading a group of ‘developing’ schools this year.

Secondary Mastery Specialists

Alex Davidson: Beverley High School

Alex Davidson: Beverley High School

Alex works at Beverley High School, has been a Secondary Mastery Specialist since 2018 and took part in the England/China exchange visit to Shanghai in 2019. Alex also delivers sessions on teaching for mastery at the East Riding Heads of Maths meetings and at the University of York.
David Green: Scalby School

David Green: Scalby School

David is training to be a Secondary Mastery Specialist and will work with schools in the North Yorkshire coast area when he has completed his training. David works at Scalby Secondary School in Scarborough where he is a Mathematics Lead Practitioner.
Mark Stockton-Pitt: Harrogate Grammar School

Mark Stockton-Pitt: Harrogate Grammar School

Mark works at Harrogate Grammar School and coordinates the Secondary Teaching for Mastery Programme, alongside his role supporting schools as a Secondary Mastery Specialist.
Max Webb-Sear: Millthorpe School

Max Webb-Sear: Millthorpe School

Max works at Millthorpe School in York and is in his final year of Mastery Specialist traning. He is also working towards becoming a NCETM PD Lead and is looking forward to working collaboratively with local schools next year.
Lisa Wray: Prince Henry's Grammar School

Lisa Wray: Prince Henry's Grammar School

Lisa is Deputy Faculty Leader at Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley and is a Teaching and Learning Specialist for the Leeds Learning Partnership. Lisa travelled to Shanghai in 2015 as part of the secondary Maths Hub China/England exchange.
