Developing A Level Pedagogy (for experienced A Level Maths teachers)

A level pedagogy – How to successfully integrate the teaching of the overarching themes into your department’s practice

The programme involves a direct working partnership between the Yorkshire Ridings Maths Hub and the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP).

Teachers across the whole of Yorkshire are welcome to join this online programme.

Who can take part?

This programme is aimed at experienced A Level Maths teachers and those with responsibility for key stage 5.

What is involved?

Participants will take part in a series of online collaborative meetings in order to develop the ethos, pedagogy and teaching of the overarching themes in the A Level mathematics specification.

What will you learn?

The programme will examine how to develop the teaching of:

·         Mathematical argument, language and proof
·         Mathematical problem solving at A level
·         Mathematical modelling

·         The use of technology in the teaching and learning of A-level mathematics

All of our programmes are designed according to the participants, so you’ll have a big say in what aspects of the above you’d like to focus on.

What is the cost?

The Developing A Level Pedagogy programme is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme and the AMSP so is free to participating schools/colleges.
