Alison Dykes
Fylingdales C of E Primary School
Alison teaches in a mixed-age EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 class at Fylingdales C of E Primary School, part of the Heritage Coast Federation. She is the Maths Lead and Assistant Headteacher, with over 13 years of teaching experience across the primary age range.
After completing her Primary Mastery Specialist training in 2024/25, Alison has become even more passionate about Teaching for Mastery and helping schools develop strong maths teaching. She has led focus groups around the Mastering Number Programme, supporting schools to develop children’s number sense and confidence in early maths.
Alison is particularly interested in supporting subject leads to strengthen maths teaching in mixed-age classes, sharing practical ideas and approaches that work well in smaller and mixed-age school settings. She enjoys working with colleagues, learning together and helping to ensure all children develop confidence, fluency and a deeper understanding of maths.
