Michaela Livingstone
Overdale Community Primary School
Michaela is the Deputy Headteacher at Overdale Community Primary School in Scarborough, where she leads on curriculum, assessment and Maths. She is currently a Year 2 class teacher and has 15 years of experience teaching across the primary phase.
Michaela has been actively involved with the Maths Hub for the past nine years, contributing to a range of work groups including the Research and Innovation Work Group for Oracy and completing the Professional Development Lead Accreditation. After training as a Primary Mastery Specialist in 2024/25, she was inspired by the Teaching for Mastery approach and its inclusive, creative focus on deepening children’s understanding of mathematics. This year, she has led a focus group on developing mathematical habits in problem solving, working collaboratively with several schools to strengthen provision and improve outcomes for children.
